Does anyone else lie in bed at night, and think about how they’re going to do better tomorrow? I’m always going to eat better, start exercising again, work on my half-written novel, walk the dog. I’m full of good intent at 10 pm. I just haven’t figured out how to make it last until the morning. If you do, let me know please?
My second sock got done last night. We started watching The Crown on Netflix recently and have become obsessed, so every night I have 2-3 episodes’ worth of good knitting time. Sadly, we’re on the second half of season three so soon I’ll be lost, waiting for the next season. I absolutely loved the first two seasons; season three is good but not quite as enthralling. Anyway, socks are done and now I just need to wear them and wash them.
And the most fun part is: I can work on other projects now! The temptation to cast on something new is great, but I also have another sock on the needles plus my Ripple Bralette that was put on hold. Not to mention the shawl that’s been forgotten for a few weeks. Still … new project! What should it be??
My darling dogs managed to tree a raccoon this morning. The tree is just beyond our fence, so the dumb thing could easily have climbed down and run away, but it sat up there for at least half an hour while my dogs whined and barked and ran around like idiots. It brought back strong memories of Where the Red Fern Grows and made me want to re-read to remember more about raccoon behavior. But then I remembered the end of the book and decided against it. I would have felt sorry for the raccoon, which looked maybe half-grown, except that I have had raccoons nest inside my house and it is a terrible thing, so if my dogs can keep it away from our house, more the better!
Happy Tuesday, friends.
You are definitely not alone with the good intentions at night and then gone by the morning. Also I have just posted about all of the projects I have on the go as well so you are not alone. I love your makes!
I am NEVER reading Where the Red Fern Grows again. Ugh. *glares as traumatic “kids” books*
I love the socks though! Hopefully they will be as good to wear as they are to look at.
I hear you, except for some reason I’m a sucker for heartbreaking books. Bridge to Terabithia, anyone?? My daughter read Red Fern when she was early high school, I believe, and did not cry. At all. Heartless, she is! π
I read Red Fern, Bridget to Terabithia, and The Red Pony all at a young age. The only one that interests me at all now is Terabithia. I don’t think I mind heartbreaking too much, but leave the animals alone!
Hm, haven’t read The Red Pony, and not sure I’ll seek it out!
Hint: the pony dies. And my memory paints it as on the graphic side.
Great socks! I really need to get back in to The Crown. I started watching it ages ago, but must have gotten into something else.
If you find the answer to keeping the good intentions into the morning, do share! I am exactly the same.
The Crown is especially fun for me because I know very little British history, so it keeps me in suspense, haha! As long as I don’t Google anything, that is.
They cast the actors really well too, which helps! I only saw up to the end of Season 1, so I have loads of catching up to do!
Oh but you do know they switch the cast beginning with Season 3? I was so sad to lose Claire Foy and Matt Smith!
I knew Claire Foy switched out to Olivia Coleman but I didn’t know Matt Smith was switched. I might pop the Crown on when I get to my second sock π
Oh yes, the whole cast switched! It was quite disconcerting at first!
I wish I had a trick to make motivation last until morning. I need to figure out something, as I’m getting to be very lazy. The socks look great.
I too am all full of motivation every night that doesn’t last until morning. Maybe all of us together can figure something out?
Love your socks!
Yeah, we can figure out how to embrace who we are as-is! π I’m still working on that too, though.
I love when puppers stretch out like this. So freaking cute!!
Omg Where the Red Fern Grows, nooooo. Haha.
I’m with you on the morning motivation. Every night I think I’m going to wake up early to get more work in…which doesn’t happen. Hahaha.
Oh bah, I’m never trying to find more time to work! haha!
