Shocker, I know. Seems like that’s all the knitting that goes on around here, socks. These are my rainbow shortie socks made with the color Rainbows Run the World from Desert Vista Dyeworks. Much like Sarah over at Mildly Granola, I wish I’d done a contrast heel, but that also seems like a lot of bother for shortie socks. Instead I will take that knowledge with me when I knit a calf-length pair with this yarn. Also I did a garter stitch heel with these for the first time and they feel so squishy!

Someday I WILL have more to show you that is not socks because I’ve been working on my Kassiani shawl and loving every bit of it. Who knew that massive lace shawls would be happy knitting for me?
Hope you’re all staying cool, if you have the same hot hot hot weather we’re having. I do love summer but I have my limits!
Happy Friday, friends.
Yay! Rainbow socks! It’s been cool here, but looks like rain today. Which is good because my garden is thirsty!
I love those!!
These are great socks! I know that using the patterned yarn for the heels messes with the stripe pattern on the foot, but I do like the way the heel looks like its own separate rainbow.
Yes me too! I could go real crazy and just use a different striping yarn for the heel accent!
That would be crazy! I’d be more likely to either pull from the other end of the ball of yarn, or do an afterthought heel. 😉
I’ve still never done an afterthought heel but I swear I’m going to learn!
They’re great for when you don’t want to break up a yarn pattern, but it does make it hard to try the sock on for length….
Cute socks. It’s a high of 59°F today here.,,throw some heat our way please.
Wish I could!
Your rainbow socks are fabulous! It’s been pretty cool here, but that might change over the next week 🙂
So pretty!!
