WIP Wednesday

I’ve been working on my Desert Vista Dyeworks socks in the Bella & Edward colorway but I’m waffling at the moment. I wish I’d done contrast heels and toes. Normally I don’t mind a weird disruption of the stripes but since these are my Twilight socks, I kind of want them to be awesome.

I think I’m going to rip back before the heel and do a contrast color. What color should I use?

My other current, and main, WIP is the house. The painters are making good progress and I’m delighted with how it’s turning out.

I’m not sure how much longer they’ll be here, but demo on the back of the house starts tomorrow so we’ll most likely have workers in the front and back of the house for at least a few days. The dogs will be thrilled, I’m sure. I’m very excited to say goodbye to our sad, sagging addition.

The husband and I are now both fully vaccinated, and the kids have had their first shots, and it’s a relief. I’m so looking forward to being able to hug my relatives and friends again!

Happy Wednesday, friends.

    • It’s going away entirely. It was originally a sleeping porch, enclosed on the first floor and open on the second. At some point they expanded it and closed it all in, but didn’t put in enough foundational support and it’s been sagging for a long time. After four contractors told us we couldn’t save it as is, and we can’t afford to rebuild it, we decided it would just go away and we’ll get a nice roomy deck.

  1. Since they’re Twilight socks, I’d look for a color that evokes twilight (the time of day) and pairs well with the sock. Maybe something that matches the deep blue?

Hooray for vaccination! I’m still waiting for my turn, but I really look forward to hugging family again too.

  2. Both of your WIPs are looking great! Getting the work on the house started must be such a relief, as is getting vaccinated. Looking forward to seeing how your Twilight socks turn out 🙂
