Do mittens need to be exactly the same size?? I’ve been working on my donation hats and mittens, and I have two awesome mittens but one is two rows longer than the other. Argh.
I have enough green yarn left to make either a hat, or a second set of mittens so that I have two sets that match. I prefer making hats to mittens but I also prefer to have mittens be the same size. What would you do, mittens or hat?
While I ponder, I’ll make a set of brown mittens and cross my fingers that I can make them the same size! And if anyone else is interested in donating, here’s the info: Maine Access Immigrant Network, 237 Oxford St, Suite 25A, Portland ME 04101.
No one will notice the two extra rows. They are fine. You can make a hat. 🙂
In theory I agree with mildlygranola. In practice, however, I would make mittens that match. 😆
LOL I would LIKE to agree with her, but it might not work out that way!
Bless you, I like how you think!
I would definitely make the mittens to match, but I’m a perfectionist.
Sigh, me too. I might end up doing that. Or I could just undo the bigger one and reknit it smaller!
Can you block the mittens so that they look like the match? That’s probably what I would do.
Hmm, maybe! That’s worth a shot!
Cute hats! How did you come out on the mittens?
LOL, well! After I shortened the wrong one, I went back and shortened the longer one too, and it came out a row too short, so I blocked the darn thing to match and I’m never making mittens again!!
This is why I usually knit socks and mittens two at a time. 🤣🤦🏼♀️ oh well life goes on
