Ever since I finished my Fade shawl, I’ve had a marvelous time knitting on other things. I’ve got a pair of socks almost done, I made some progress on my Pride shawl, and I’ve cast on two new shawls. One of them is a fun summer KAL for Under the Olive Tree Knits, a one-skein shawl pattern named the Sun Glitter Shawl. I picked out some new-ish yarn from my stash, Less Traveled Concorde in Lagoon, and have been loving this pattern!
It’s going smoothly and quickly and I think blocking is going to make a huge difference, opening up the mesh triangles a lot. You need around 400 yards of fingering weight, and the pattern is free through August, so check it out if you want to play along!
Wow! I do love the color of that yarn!
I have sun glitter downloaded and ready to go on some yarn I dyed….if I can ever finish up some other stuff!
I hear you! I might have cast on a few too many projects all at once!
I constantly have too much going at once, lol. I did finish a pair of shorty socks before work, and didnt immediately cast on another pair.
I don’t need another knitting project… but I have some sparkly glitter yarn that might be perfect for this KAL (depending on yardage). I think I’ll have to go check it out! I love knitting lace shawls in the summer. Something about the blocking process goes really well with sunshine in my mind.
Oh heck, sparkly yarn would have been perfect for this! Dang. Also, I love wearing lace shawls on summer evenings!
It’s not often cold enough on summer evenings for lace shawls from fingering weight, but I can sometimes wear my laceweight ones. I love dressing up a simple black dress with a hand knit shawl, though. Especially if it’s sparkly. 😉
I love the colour of your new shawl!
Thank you! It’s not purple, lol!
This is going to be beautiful 💙 love this color
