Yep, I cast on a new project yesterday, nine WIPs be darned! I had a set of size 7 DPNs to test out, and I thought I’d use them to make a hat. But they’re 5″ DPNs, so not quite long enough, plus I forgot how much I adore 16″ circular needles for hats. It just wasn’t working for me. So I frogged the three inches of hat and started over with a new yarn and a new pattern, and instead made a gift for a friend at work. She’s funny and friendly and often cold, so now she’ll have a way to keep her hands warm.
The pattern is one of my favorites, 75 Yard Malabrigo Mitts, and I used a partial skein of Berroco Vintage from my stash. She’s a fan of Wonder Woman too, which is why she got red. These really do use just about 75 yards and they’re super fast to make, so they’re great stashbusters. I hope she’s pleased!
Today is more COLD, more snow, more tennis, all of which mean more knitting while snuggling with pups on the couch. I wonder if I can finish something else today!
What a great pattern. I’m always looking for ways to use up worsted weight yarn. Good luck finishing your next project.
That is a great pair of mitts!
Very cool!
Ooh they’re fab, I want some! They’re going on my to-do list
They’re fantastic mitts and perfect for quick gifts!
