I miss knitting

It feels like I haven’t been knitting at all the last three weeks. We’re pondering the idea of stepping away from the fixer-upper life that we’re immersed in, so I’ve been spending most of my spare time doing a lot of heavy cleaning in preparation for listing it. I swear, this house hasn’t been this clean since we moved in, and it’s nice to see it all pretty and shiny. But man, I’m tired. Tired of cleaning and tired of not knitting. I get to do a tooth on my NGY Hitchhiker here and there, but most of my knitting has consisted of a little bit of sock knitting during lunch breaks at work. As a result, my second Jungle Boogie sock is looking pretty good.

  1. Hi Bonnie,
I’m new here, so let me introduce myself! I’m Karen, a 58 year old dressmaker. Since I was 5 years old- I’ve been hands on with everything I can possible get myself into! That means a craft-aholic, who knits, sews, sometimes paints; etc…and has been renovating a house for a year!
So, I know exactly how you feel! As I look around at my hoard of craft supplies that are taking over my office/guest room; I can’t decide what to part with! It’s a type of disease ,I suppose. All those things I want to make, but they never get done.
Anyway, my hopes are to devote more time to knitting….less to sitting at a sewing machine.
As for us, our 1500 Sq. Ft. fixer upper house is at the final stages of being finished. If only I could get myself to open the new paint and do those shutters! LOL!
If you take a peek at my blog, you will see what I’ve been up to. Mind you, It’s under re-construction as well, having just merged my blogger posts- I need to edit and fix a lot of glitches.
As you were saying, you want to get back to your knitting. My suggestion is to start setting a little time in the evening after dinner and just watch a movie and knit. The reno work can wait for the daytime-Right? And don’t set huge completion goals for now.
Remember- For everything there is a season! Just enjoy the process!

    • It’s Bonny, not Bonnie. I work during the day so no, reno can’t wait for daytime, and we’ve been doing projects on old houses for 20 years now, so I think I’m past enjoying the process. But good luck with yours.

      • Sorry about the spelling , Bonny! And the super long comment! Sounds like you’ve had your fill of it.. This is my first house of my own. I’m trying to get my hubby to push thru some small things, but we’re almost finished. I’m not planning on moving anytime soon!
It sounds like you are worn out- my guess? I hope it comes together soon.
        Thanks for your response,
        Karen
