I couldn’t stand it any longer: I spent Sunday afternoon sorting my yarn stash so that it was all together by weight! Thank goodness for Ravelry, too. I pulled up my stash and filtered it one weight at a time so I didn’t miss any yarns, and there were several where I looked at the name and it meant absolutely nothing, but hey, I’d uploaded a photo of the skein! I got to remind myself how much gorgeous yarn I have, I got to pull out a few skeins of cheapo acrylic I’ll never use, and it looks much better than before!Last step is waiting for the husband to build the diagonal dividers for the shelves, but I can be patient on that…I think!
I am super jealous that you have a craft room. I am also jealous of all of your beautiful yarn. Good for you for organizing it all!
Thanks, it felt good! I do indeed love my craft room. It makes up for the fact that my husband took over the garage for his workshop and I have to park my car in the driveway!
Awesome organization and equally awesome stash! π
Thanks! My lack of willpower is definitely on display. It didn’t occur to me until after I posted it that I was actually sharing the size of my stash! It’s kind of a personal thing, you know? π
π I love stash pictures! I don’t see a lack of control, I see infinite creative possibilities! The yarn is your canvas and paint. Having options is key to maximizing creativity! π
Wouldn’t it be fun to have stash-visiting parties? Like, knitters could come over and say, “Hey, show me the cool stuff in your stash!” and we could all pet it and stuff. (And probably try to steal a skein here or there. Hm. Maybe not a good idea after all.)
That would be awesome! We could trade away those skeins that we thought we’d love but have no clue of what to with! I’m in! π
I’d love to have shelves for my stash! Sadly it’s all hidden away in laundry bags under the bed. π¦
You did it! It looks great and Im jealous of all your space. I’ll have to do mine at some point.
You should–it was fun!
Love it. My hubby has been helping me reorganize my craft supplies too. Least year the top 2/3 of my closet got sorted into totes. This year it will be the bottom half & misc storage behind our craft room door. Love the animal skull.
Thanks! You’re the only one to comment on my skull. It makes me think of Georgia O’Keeffe’s paintings.
